A lifesaver at the last moment

Kate was incredibly kind and supportive. Just a few days before my interview, she agreed to help me prepare. We went over my completed I-589 form, and she provided her recommendations. We reviewed my story and discussed the types of questions that might come up during the interview. Kate gave me a lot of tips on how to answer certain questions and even suggested additional details I could include in my responses. I genuinely felt that she wanted to help me, rather than just take my money, which is unfortunately a common experience elsewhere.

Additionally, Kate helped to find a new interpreter just two days before the interview because the previous one was very unreliable, and I was worried they wouldn’t show up. Yulia, who helped me with translation, was very responsible and a kind person. She supported me during the interview, tried to help the officer understand parts of my case, and comforted me when I felt overwhelmed by emotions and memories.
