#1Turkey. Welcome refugees to your home for Thanksgiving

  • by

Thanksgiving is almost here. We are sure you are looking forward to this holiday, when the whole family will gather at the table and enjoy time together. What about mothers and children who fled war and are here in the United States alone?

UAWelcome helps newcomer refugee families and matches them with American families, who want to share Thanksgiving meals and kindness.

By registering to become a host, you can play an active role in helping our international community feel welcomed during this holiday season.

Become a Host for Thanksgiving

If you want to invite some refugees or moms with kids, please fill in the form and we will match you with a family in your area.

We will receive the name(s) and contact information of your guest(s) after the matches have been made about a few days before the holiday. If you have any questions or want additional information, please contact Olha Mykhno, Coordinator of Programs, at  info@uawelcome.org

Join an American family for Thanksgiving dinner

If you are a refugee and don’t have anyone to be with for the holiday, please fill out this form and we will match you with a family who can make your “first turkey” special. There is no better way to experience the traditions of the Thanksgiving holiday than with an American family.

By registering for this program you confirm your attendance.  You must be available all day on Thanksgiving to be eligible to be placed with a family.

Our volunteers will contact with you no later that a few days before the holiday to confirm that you have been matched with a host family and future details.

Get ready for some turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie!
